PADI Tec 40 Course in Malta
Step into Technical Diving with the PADI Tec 40 Course
The PADI Tec 40 course is your first step into technical diving, bridging recreational and TecRec training. This course equips you with foundational Tec skills, knowledge, and confidence, allowing dives to a maximum depth of 40 meters, including limited decompression stops. Ideal for divers looking to extend their limits safely and gradually, this course offers an excellent entry point into deeper, longer dives using enriched air nitrox.
What’s Involved in the PADI Tec 40 Course?
During your tec training, you’ll master key technical diving skills, including:
- Twinset configuration and use
- Gas shutdown procedures
- Stage cylinder handling and management
- Dive planning with enriched air (up to 50% Oâ‚‚)
- Limited decompression dives (maximum 10-minute deco stop)
This course introduces you to Tec diving without requiring the significant investment of time and equipment associated with more advanced courses.
What Can I Do with My PADI Tec 40 Certification?
Upon completion of your course, you’ll be certified to:
- Plan and perform dives up to 40 meters deep
- Conduct dives with up to 10 minutes of decompression
- Use enriched air nitrox (up to 50% Oâ‚‚) to make decompression dives safer and more conservative
- Progress smoothly onto more advanced technical diving courses, like Tec 45 and Tec 50
Tec 40 Trimix Upgrade
The Tec 40 Trimix optional add-on enhances your PADI Tec 40 course by introducing you to the use of trimix, a gas blend that includes helium, in addition to oxygen and nitrogen. Trimix is valuable for technical divers because it reduces the effects of narcosis at depth, making deeper dives safer and more manageable. With this addon, you’ll learn to dive with a trimix blend that contains between 21% oxygen and up to 35% helium, giving you a taste of more advanced technical diving techniques. This addition also prepares you for future courses where trimix becomes a critical component of deep technical dives.
This option is ideal for divers who want to begin exploring the benefits of trimix early in their technical diving education, allowing for safer, clearer-headed dives as you progress deeper into technical diving limits.
