PADI Boat Diver Speciality Course

Does dive boat jargon leave you feeling lost? Are you up to speed with your boat etiquette? PADI?s Boat Diver Speciality will explain the important difference between the galley and the head, elaborate on entries and exits and even explain how to treat and prevent sea sickness. An essential course for first time boat divers or those who simply want to develop their knowledge.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?

Knowledge development, including the planning, organisation, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of boat diving. Proper boat diving etiquette is covered, such as storage of personal equipment, personal conduct and considerations for care of the boat. Theory includes basic, common boat terminology and local boat diving laws and/or ordinances, as well as an overview of emergency/safety equipment needed on-board private diving vessels. Course includes two open water dives.

WHAT CAN I DO WITH MY CERTIFICATION?

Understand better the different layouts of different boats, know what safety features one should look out for on a boat, and understand the terminology used on these vessels so as understand better the different ways one can dive from a boat.

Open Water Diver/Junior Open Water or equivalent

10 years or older

Hire of basic equipment needed, instructor, land transport to dive sites, boat transport to dive sites, certification card & DAN insurance

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?

Bring a towel, water, swimming suit, and to change to dry after diving. We drive to the jetty, no wet clothes allowed in the vehicles. On the boat you can get cold easier, better to have warm clothes just in case. Also if you are sensitive for motion sickness, you can get seasick pills in any pharmacy before. Keep boat dives fun!
